About First Baptist Church Morrison 

First Baptist Church Morrison (FBCM) is a ministry that provides not only practical teaching of His Word, but also evangelistic outreach to the community, genuine praise and worship, and ministry that meet the needs of the total individual. The vision of FBCM is to spiritually, socially, and economically impact the city of Newport News, VA and beyond, with a Kingdom mindset and a Spirit of excellence.

College Student Scholarships

Annual scholarships are awarded to full-time undergraduate students. Yearly application is required, but previous recipients will be strongly considered. All qualified applicants will be considered without regard to sex, race, nationality, or national origin. This scholarship may be used for any legitimate higher education expenses including tuition and fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for specific courses. Such awards will be paid directly to the student. 

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in an academic program at a 2-year or 4-year college
• Completed at least one year of college (must provide proof of enrollment in second semester or 24 credits completed)
• GPA of 3.2 or higher
• Completed 20 hours of community service
• A completed application which includes an application form, two letters of recommendation (one personal and one professional), a letter of intent and unofficial transcript
